Too much Cuba on the brain

I haven't slept well since I returned. There are so many images and ideas from my incredible trip to Cuba dancing in my head. Last night, a poem woke me up. Regardless of the time, I've learned to write when the muse calls, and below are the pictures that inspired 'El Monte'.  Perhaps I'll translate it eventually, but now it needs to live as it was born, in Spanish.

El Monte
En mis sueños, ando por el monte,
bello.
Verdes paredes me llaman a las cuevas de mis indios.
Nobles ojos guardan el silencio de su historia.
Luz caribe.
Azulverde mar
inocente
intoxica con su belleza.
No me deja dormir,
recordando.
En mis sueños, ando por el monte.
