One month of blogging!

Unbelievable that I have been blogging about my Cuba research trip for just over a month now and there is still so much to share! For example, on the left is an amazing poster celebrating the founding of Baracoa by the Spaniards as the first Cuban city 505 years ago this coming August 15th.

The artist, Jehovanny Guilbeaux Rodríguez, was able to visit Florida last month as part of a Cuban Art Exhibit at the Nuance Galleries in Tampa, Florida (nuancegalleries.com).

I encourage you to visit their website and see Jehovanny's art and learn about other Baracoan artists who make up this amazing and vibrant artistic community in this First Cuban city.

Notice Jehovanny's French last name, Guilbeaux. Baracoa has deep 19th century roots with Caribbean island French immigrants.
