The second sad news from Baracoa is the passing of Víctor Pérez Rodríguez, Baracoan storyteller, author and keeper of local lore, mythology and herbal/natural medicine.

This great foto was taken by noted Cuban photographer Jehovanny R. Saname (in second picture on right side next to Dr. Roberto Pun) the day they hosted a 'día de campo' (picnic) which I was happy to be part of during my visit.

Víctor's gentleness and spirituality shone through in everything he did and said. It was my honor to have met him.
